In honor of Juneteenth Curvy Couture is highlighting a select few of our black owned/ founded boutique partners. The business of owning and operating a small business is no easy feat and we celebrate their ambition, tenacity and dedication to supporting and uplifting women to be their best selves.
Lucy’s Boudoir, Measured to Fit and the Fitting Curve are 3 boutique partners that have celebrated and supported Curvy Couture over the years. The staff at Lucy's Boudoir are passionate about helping women find their true bra size! Their hopes are to inspire women by educating them about their size and helping to provide a renewed sense of self-confidence.
Owner Crystal Rodgers has more than a decade of expertise in her field. She carefully stocks her boutique with options that reflect the diverse range of body types and unique fitting needs from petite to plus, bridal, nursing, mastectomy, sport, swim and so much more.
“Juneteeth is a hallmark celebration that will always remind me of this; freedom must begin in the mind, in the heart, and in the spirit before one can truly begin making strides towards any dream. Like the slaves, often times we find ourselves afraid to step outside of the perimeters around us, because that is the closest resemblance of safety and familiarity. However, I hope my career has inspired women to do the opposite.
In this same way that June 19th commemorates acknowledgement, affirmation of the freedom belonging to my ancestors, I hope that my tenure as a African American woman in business can validate the blossoming desire for other women to turn their dreams imagined into tangible acts of faith. I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, and I also manage to uplift countless women on a daily basis. If I can do this, with great commitment to the same faith that brought me here, all things are possible.”

“For Helene and I owning a bra fitting boutique was always the goal after falling in love with lingerie and the fit process. We honed our expertise and wore many different hats while working for other companies and when the opportunity arose to finally do it for ourselves we took the leap of faith!
For any other entrepreneur, especially our fellow Black women, we advise taking the leap of faith, utilizing any and all resources, and leaning on our community as much as possible. This year we're celebrating our 6th anniversary and expanding into the digital space to reach more people. Our goal is to grow our brick and mortar to truly become the local bra fitting shop many different people can rely on and we're actively working on it.”
